My name is Darcie Gilde, and I’m a Career and Technical Education teacher at Westlake High School with over 23 years of experience in technology education. I design my camps to be challenging and engaging, using industry-standard software to give students real-world skills. With small camp sizes, I’m able to provide personalized support to each student. I’m passionate about inspiring young minds and equipping them for success in today’s technology-driven world.
**Campers enrolled in both the morning and afternoon sessions are welcome to bring their own lunch and enjoy games or crafts between 12 and 1 pm. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions.

Digital Drawing & Painting

Does your child love to draw, create, and explore art? Join our Digital Art & Painting summer camp, where young artists will learn how to bring their ideas to life using digital art tools!
Students will explore the fundamentals of digital illustration, painting techniques, and character design while working on fun, hands-on projects. Campers will learn how to sketch, color, shade, and create finished digital artwork in a supportive and creative environment.
No prior computer experience required. Recommended for students in grades 2rd through 8th.

Animation
Animation
Students will explore the fundamentals of digital animation while creating their own animated projects using creative storytelling techniques. Campers will learn about character design, motion, timing, special effects, and scene creation as they develop short animations from concept to final production.
Throughout the week, students will build skills in creativity, problem-solving, and digital art while working in a fun, hands-on environment. Whether you are new to animation or already love drawing and digital art, this camp is a great opportunity to learn how animate.
No prior computer experience required. Recommended for students in grades 3rd through 8th.

3D Modeling
3D Modeling
Bring your imagination to life in our exciting 3D Modeling camp! Students will learn the fundamentals of creating 3D objects, characters, and environments using industry-style digital design software. Campers will explore the basics of 3D modeling, shapes, textures, and digital design while creating fun projects in a hands-on, creative environment. By the end of camp, students will have designed several original 3D models to showcase their creativity.
No prior 3D experience required. Recommended for students in grades 4th through 8th.

Video Game Design
Video Game Design
Does your child love playing video games? What if they could learn how to create their own? At our Game Design summer camp, students will explore the exciting world of game development and learn how games are designed from idea to playable project.
Campers will learn the basics of game design, level creation, characters, and interactive gameplay while building their own simple games in a fun, hands-on environment. By the end of camp, students will have created their own playable game to share with family and friends!
Some prior computer experience required. Recommended for students in grades 4th through 8th.
