Virtual Business

Course Overview

Our Virtual Business course is a creative class designed for students to explore starting their own business using online technologies. Students will develop a broad base of entrepreneurial knowledge that includes managing, marketing, and financing a business.

We will create a web presence, identify steps needed to locate customers, set fees, as well as learn to provide administrative, creative, and technical services using advanced technological modes of communication and delivery. Students will also conduct online and offline marketing, maintain business records, and understand legal issues associated with a virtual business.

Class Calendar

Class calendar will be available shortly.

Required Class Materials

Students are required to bring charged iPad to class daily
Most class material and assignments will be available via Google Classroom and Google Calendar
Other classwork will be available via the online platform Knowledge Matters. Students will receive logins for this resource in the first week of class
Communication will be facilitated through school-issued email
Desktop computers are provided in the classroom, if preferred over iPad

Google Classroom

Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials to students. Students can join the Virtual Business Google Classroom on the first day of class.
