"I believe it important to emphasize how strongly I feel that books, just like people, have a destiny. Some invite sorrow, others joy, some both."
From the author of the novel Night, Elie Wiesel
As you may know, Texas Senate Bill 13, signed into law earlier this year and effective with the 2025–26 academic year, changes how school and classroom libraries operate across the state. Because of the way SB 13 restructures library acquisition and checkout policies, setting up even a small classroom-based collection would trigger the same bureaucratic requirements: public postings, review committees, approval delays, and parental notifications. Until these new procedures are fully understood and manageable, maintaining a class library doesn't feel feasible.
