My teaching career began early in my life when as a camp counselor I realized working with kids was a true calling for me. After earning my B.S. in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin, I started teaching pre-school, moved to 6th Grade English in Burleson, TX followed by 9 years in Leander ISD. During my time in LISD, I taught 8th grade English and coached Cheerleading. By the end of my time at Leander Middle School, I was the 6th, 7th and 8th grade GT/English teacher. I chose to stay home once my first child was born in 2005. When my twins entered WRMS, it felt like the perfect time to come back into the classroom. Jumping back into education during the pandemic in the fall of 2020 was certainly an interesting challenge! My family has lived in the Eanes District since 2007, and I have enjoyed many volunteer positions and opportunities in the district as my children have worked their way from Forest Trail, WRMS and now my twins are Juniors at Westlake HIgh School and my oldest, a recent grad from Westlake High School, will be graduating from The University of California, Santa Barbara this spring. My past experiences as an educator combined with my time as a parent of three uniquely different children gives me the confidence to create a classroom atmosphere where children will feel welcome, safe to make mistakes, respected, challenged and most importantly cared for. This classroom is a safe place for each and every child where each and every day they will have opportunities to grow academically and socially. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your family's life!
