SYMPHONIC BAND

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hill Country Middle School Symphonic Band! Membership into the Symphonic Band is gained through a rigorous audition process during the previous school year and is limited to students who demonstrate advanced musical and technical skills and have hard working and positive attitudes.

The Symphonic Band is the top performing ensemble and is known throughout Texas and the United States as a highly successful organization. The Symphonic Band has received consistent top ratings at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading Evaluation, been named Best in Class and Outstanding Ensemble at the Alamo Showcase of Music, performed at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, the Western International Band Festival in Seattle, and the Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis.

Required Materials/Class Supplies

Heavy-duty pencil pouch (must be in binder at all times)
Sharpened pencils
Tuner/metronome and mic cable
Extra AAA batteries for tuner/metronome
Pep Rally Uniform: band t-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes
Concert Uniform:
- Ladies: black concert dress (ordered at the beginning of the year), black hose/tights, black close-toed shoes
- Gentlemen: black, long-sleeved, button-down, collared shirt and tuxedo pants (ordered at the beginning of the year), black HCMS tie (provided before performances), long black socks, black dress shoes
