Honors Geometry at Westlake is a comprehensive examination of Euclidean geometry, including proofs, parallel and perpendicular lines, the coordinate plane, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, trigonometry, congruence and similarity, surface area, volume, transformations, and geometric probability. Algebra I is a prerequisite.
Students must bring their charged iPads to class every day. In addition, the following supplies are necessary for honors geometry:
A means of storing notes, e.g. a 3-ring binder
TI-84 or TI-84 Plus graphing calculator (recommended for fall semester; required for spring semester)
Graph paper
Notebook paper
Pencils with erasers
Compass and protractor set
iPad-connectible headphones for watching videos individually
Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials to students. WHS students will receive a classroom code to access these materials, submit assignments, and track any missing work.Â
