About Mrs. Loera

My name is Elizabeth Loera and I was raised here in the Austin area. I lived near the Y-in Oak Hill for all of my childhood. After I graduated from James Bowie High School, I went to Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos before it was named Texas State. I graduated with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Mathematics. My certifications include Self Contained (1-8), Mathematics (1-8), Master Teacher of Mathematics (4-8), and ESL. I'm also a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence in Mathematics. I have a "Recognized" distinction from the state of Texas as an 'Effective Teacher".

I have been teaching for 22 years. I started at Spring ISD (outside of Houston) for 5 years, Pflugerville ISD for 4 years, and Austin ISD for 12 years. This is my 2nd year here at West Ridge, I am very familiar with the area. I live about 8.5 miles from the school and will probably see a few of you out and about. If you see me out, please say hello.

I am married to my fabulous retired Firefighter husband, Richard.  Together we have a blended family of 3 kids, Gracelyn (26), William (23), and Anastacia (20).  We live about 2 miles from Lake Travis where we like to enjoy time outside fishing, hiking, and kayaking. We have 3 dogs, Casper, Daisy, Duke, and 1 cat, Bellatrix.
