Unit 3 The Bill of Rights C3: Close examination of the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution. Students will analyze a variety of court cases that have helped define our rights as citizens. Students will apply this knowledge in analyzing current events using the Rights outlined in these documents

Unit 4 Citizenship C4: Understands civic involvement. Enduring Understanding that Americans, at birth, are granted unalienable rights while at the same time they are charged with maintaining certain civic responsibilities. Rights are outlined in such documents as the United States Constitution.
Topics: People’s responsibilities including voting, paying taxes to support the common good, and participating in resolving issues at the local, state, tribal, and national level. Students will explore civic opportunities locally and create a civic minded project to be shared with the class.
