Use this checklist on your own or reach out to the Early College Access Team to help you get set up for success!
[ ] Activate your College Email: Check this daily! Your professor will not email your high school or personal account.
[ ] Log into the LMS (Canvas/Blackboard/D2L): Confirm your course appears on your dashboard.
[ ] Check for "Start-Up" Tasks: Many professors require a "Syllabus Quiz" or an "Introduction Post" before the first Friday to prove you are active in the class.
[ ] Verify Textbook Requirements: Do you need a physical book, or an "Access Code" for digital homework? (Check if your district pays for these or if you must purchase them.)
[ ] Locate the "Withdrawal" (W) Date: Mark this on your calendar. This is the last day you can drop the class without it hurting your college GPA.
[ ] Map Out Major Assignments: Don’t just look at this week. Put every Midterm, Final, and Project deadline into your phone calendar now.
[ ] Identify Office Hours: Find where and when your professor is available for help on Zoom.
[ ] Note the Attendance Policy: In college, "excused" high school absences (like field trips or sports) are not always excused by professors. Know the rules!
[ ] Identify Your College ID Number: You will need this for every help desk or tutoring request. Keep it in a "Notes" app on your phone.
[ ] Connect with the College Library: Bookmark the college’s online library portal for future research. This is linked on every partner college page on this site.
[ ] Find Your "Person": Do you know which high school counselor handles your dual enrollment? If not, the ECA Specialist can help you.
[ ] Request Accommodations (if applicable): If you have an IEP or 504 plan, please note that it does not automatically transfer to this institution. You must contact the College’s Accessibility Office to get your college-level accommodations letter.
