During Aspect 4, students will be assessed. Formative assessment is always vital to good instruction and student learning. In a hybrid model, it will be even more important as teachers will have fewer opportunities to gauge student understanding through informal observation. In person instructional time will be valuable and should not be used for assessment. Instead, teachers will assign assessments that can be completed during asynchronous time. In order to measure student mastery in the content, teachers should consider moving away from multiple choice and other traditional means of assessment.
