Welcome to Kindergarten
Welcome to Kindergarten at Parkview Elementary School! Here you will get to know your child's teacher, check out the curriculum, and know important dates and events going on at school.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt - Journeys
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) Journeys is the ELA curriculum. Your child will be learning letters, letter sounds, sight words, blending words together, and finally how to read. Through multiple units and lessons, students will be exposed to many different concepts throughout the year.
Math in Focus
This math curriculum, which includes the Singapore Math approach, is hands-on learning and visual models with plenty of time for exploration, practice, and small group work. By using this curriculum students will develop critical thinking skills and be able to problem-solve.
95% Group is a phonics intervention for reading readiness skills. It focuses on the basic literacy skills students need to know in order to read. These skills include onset and rime, phoneme segmentation, addition, deletion and substitution. We teach this 5 minutes every day and do small group instruction in our Tier 2 intervention time.
