My name is Stephanie Check and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher. This is my fourth year teaching Kindergarten and my second year teaching at West Point. I have previously taught second through fourth grades, and have worked with students in grades 5 through 8.
I graduated from Michigan State University (GO Green, GO White), with a major in Elementary Education, specializing in Language Arts, and an Early Childhood Education endorsement. I received my Master of Arts in Education, with a focus on Literacy Instruction and my Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
I recently got engaged to my fiance this past April. We live with our Golden Doodle named Stussy, who keeps us on our toes every day. I enjoy spending time with friends, working out, and going on trips to Disney World or Disneyland.
As a young girl, I loved going to school and learning. I was very good at reading and had excellent penmanship. I would come home from school everyday and teach my dolls and stuffed animals what I learned in school that day, as if I were their teacher. I knew right away, at a young age, that I wanted to become a teacher. I love interacting with younger children because they always bring a smile to my face. I think my favorite and most memorable teachers were my Kindergarten and First Grade teachers and I want to be a teacher that makes an impact on each and every child that I teach.
I look forward to a great year with your children!
