Welcome to the Third Grade!!

My name is Kelsey Wertz and I will be your child's teacher this year! I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a double major in Elementary and Special Education. Go Lumberjacks!

This will be my second year teaching third grade at Ashton Ranch. I have had the opportunity to work with several grade levels ranging from first to eighth grade, but I have always had a heart for third grade.

My desire to become a teacher began when I was young. As a child, I personally struggled with reading. I was behind my grade-level peers, and I felt like giving up. However, my second grade teacher continued to help me through my difficulties until I was not only reading on level, but I was actually reading above grade level! I was so grateful for my teacher and the time and effort she put in. Her dedication to her job and to me is what made me decide to become a teacher. I hope to be a teacher that makes a difference in the lives of the children I teach, just like the difference my teachers made in my life.
