About Mrs. Collins

Hello,

My name is Pam Collins. I am originally from Pennsylvania and my husband was in the US Navy. Before he retired, we were stationed in PA, CA and here at Luke AFB. I taught math nine years in CA, nine years in PA, and this is my seventh year at Shadow Ridge. I have taught the following math courses: Math 7, Math 8, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-2, Algebra 3-4, Geometry, Pre-Calculus. I also taught both Algebra 1-2 and Algebra 3-4 in Spanish while in PA.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Math Education and Spanish Teaching from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I earned a GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Certificate from the University of California Riverside. I earned a MS Degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. I also earned a MA from Ashford University in Teaching and Learning with Technology.

Even though I cherish my educational accomplishments, I am very aware that success outside of high school comes in many forms. My mission is to expose my students to a way of being that will show them that through the freedom of choice they can be anything they want to be. I want them to be lifelong learners because they choose to want the best life they can have. I will help them develop skills that will teach them how to make good decisions and set the highest goals for themselves. I want them to leave my classroom being better human beings because they take responsibility for their choices.
