Ms. Check

Hello, my name is Stephanie Check and I will be your child's Fourth Grade ELA teacher. This is my first year teaching fourth grade ELA and my eighth year teaching overall. I previously taught Second Grade, Kindergarten, and most recently Third Grade. 

I graduated from Michigan State University (GO Green, GO White), with a major in Elementary Education, specializing in Language Arts, and an Early Childhood Education endorsement. I received my Master of Arts in Education, with a focus on Literacy Instruction and most recently received my Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. 

My family consists of my mom, dad, brother, and miniature schnauzer Brody. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading, and spending time with my dog. 

As a young girl, I loved going to school and learning. I was very good at reading and had excellent penmanship. I would come home from school everyday and teach my dolls and stuffed animals what I learned in school that day, as if I were their teacher. I knew at a young age that I wanted to become a teacher. I love interacting with young children because they always bring a smile to my face. I think my favorite and most memorable teachers were my Kindergarten and First Grade teachers and I want to be a teacher that makes an impact on each and every child that I teach.
