What do you teach?  This year I will be teaching 5th grade Math at Ashton Ranch Middle school.

Where have you taught? This will be my third year teaching in the Dysart School District. I previously have taught in the Peoria school district for 5 years.  I also taught in Illinois, where I taught kindergarten.

Where are you from?  A lot of places.  I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Pittsburgh.  I moved to Columbus, Ohio while attending Ohio State University and earning my bachelor's degree in English.  I then moved to Chicago, where I took up a career in banking for 7 years before I earned my Master's degree in Education.  Eventually we decided to move to Arizona and have been here ever since!

A little about me:  I have a wife and 3 children named Ben, Alison, and Samantha.  Alison and Samantha are identical twins!

I love and root for Pittsburgh sports teams, which should be readily apparent when you are in my classroom.  The Steelers and Penguins bring me great joy and great frustration.  And yes, I even root for the hapless Pirates.  I also enjoy rooting for the sports teams from my alma mater, Ohio State University.

I love being outside and in nature.  Some of my favorite activities are walking through the woods and fishing, both of which can be difficult when you live in a desert.

My favorite food is a medium-rare steak, although chicken wings or a good burger isn't far behind on that list.  I believe McDonalds should carry the Shamrock Shake year-round.
