Discord

Discord is the central communication platform for volunteers in Dyrenes Alliance. If you are active in DA, this is the most important tool you need. All coordination, updates, discussions, event planning and online gatherings take place there.

Access to Discord is the only necessary prerequisite for internal volunteer communication.

How to get access

Discord is the central place for current volunteer communication. If you are already a DA volunteer and need help accessing Discord, ask Victoria for help.

Download Discord

Discord is free and can be used on:

Computer (Windows/Mac)

Browser

iPhone

Android

Download here:

https://discord.com/download

You can also use it directly in your browser.

What happens when you join?

When you enter the server, you will receive a welcome introduction and be asked to read and accept the server rules.

You will also be guided to:

• Choose roles that match your interests

• Access relevant channels

• Introduce yourself

• Find your regional space

There is guidance inside the server explaining where to post, how channels are organised and how to join voice or video calls.

You do not need to understand everything at once. Start by introducing yourself and finding your regional channel.

If you are unsure about anything, staff are available to help.

What Discord is used for

Discord is used for:

• Regional coordination

• National coordination

• Event planning

• Sharing updates and resources

• Online meetings

• Online social gatherings

• Cross-regional collaboration

If you are not on Discord, you will for sure miss important information.

Server norms and rules

The Discord server is a shared DA space. Respect, inclusion and constructive communication are expected.

Key principles include:

• Respectful communication

• No discrimination or hate

• No personal attacks

• No spam or advertising

• No non-vegan content

• Respect for privacy

• No explicit or offensive content

• No incitement to violence

• Political discussions only in dedicated channels

• Respect for moderators’ decisions

• The server must remain a safe and supportive environment for volunteers of different ages and backgrounds.

Full server rules are available in the rules channel on Discord.

Feedback and support

If you have questions, feedback or concerns:

• Ask in the relevant channel

• Contact a staff member or moderator

Discord is meant to be a welcoming and practical space for collaboration.

If you are active in Dyrenes Alliance and need help with Discord access, ask for help through the current volunteer contact route. It is the foundation of our volunteer communication.
