Rhagarweiniad - Introduction 

Mae’n ofynnol i Gyrff Llywodraethol ysgolion a gynhelir gynhyrchu Adroddiad Blynyddol i Rieni / Gwarcheidwad.  Mae cynnwys yr adroddiad yn statudol, er gall Gyrff Llywodraethol ddewis i ychwanegu gwybodaeth allai fod yn ddefnyddiol.


Yr adroddiad blynyddol yw’r prif ddull ffurfiol y gall y Corff Llywodraethwyr ddangos eu hatebolrwydd i Rieni / Gwarcheidwad.  Mae’n cynnig cyfle nid yn unig i gyfathrebu a Rhieni / Gwarcheidwad  - yr hyn sydd wedi bod yn digwydd yn yr ysgol yn ystod y flwyddyn flaenorol ond hefyd i rannu cynlluniau’r Corff Llywodraethol ar gyfer hyrwyddo safonau uchel o  gyflawniad addysgol ac i fynd ati i gasglu barn Rhieni am y dyfodol.

Mae’r Rheoliadau yn caniatau i ysgolion ddarparu adroddiad llawn yn unig i’r rhieni sydd yn gofyn am gopi a chyhoeddi crynodeb ar gyfer yr holl Rieni / Gwarcheidwad.

Gellir cael mynediad i gopi o’r Adroddiad llawn ar wefan yr ysgol.

 

Mae’r gofyniad blaenorol oedd yn gofyn i gorff llywodraethu gynnal cyfarfod blynyddol ar gyfer rhieni wedi ei ddisodli ac o dan adran 94 o Ddeddf Safonau a Threfniadaeth  Ysgolion (Cymru) 2013, caiff rhieni ofyn am hyd at 3 chyfarfod mewn blwyddyn ysgol â chorff llywodraethu eu hysgol.

 

Ni chafwyd cais i gynnal cyfarfod blynyddol yn ystod 2022/23.

Governing Bodies of maintained schools are required to produce an Annual Report to Parents / Guardians. The content of the report is statutory, although Governing Bodies may choose to add information that may be useful.

The annual report is the main formal method by which the Governing Body can demonstrate their accountability to Parents / Guardians. It offers an opportunity not only to communicate with Parents - what’s been happening at the school during the previous year but also to share the Governing Body's plans for promoting high standards of educational achievement and to actively gather Parents' views on the future.

The Regulations allow schools to provide a full report only to parents who request a copy and publish a summary for all Parents /Guardians.

The previous requirement that a governing body hold an annual meeting for parents has been superseded and under section 94 of the School Standards and Organization (Wales) Act 2013, parents may request up to 3 meetings in a school year with the governing body their school.

 

No request was made to hold an annual meeting during 2022/23.

Gair gan y Cadeirydd - Foreword by Chair

Mae’n bleser gennyf gyflwyno adroddiad y llywodraethwyr am y flwyddyn 22-23.

 

Unwaith eto eleni, gwelwyd yr ysgol yn symud ymlaen yn llwyddiannus gyda chanlyniadau cadarn yn yr arholiadau allanol ac nid yw’n rhy hwyr i longyfarch a dymuno yn dda i ddisgyblion a aeth i brifysgolion a cholegau ac i fyd gwaith. Llwyddodd staff i gefnogi dysgwyr wrth i ni ddychwelyd i arholiadau llawn o ran asesu allanol.

 

Braf yw gweld ein disgyblion yn derbyn profiadau allgyrsiol yn cynnwys teithiau ym meysydd megis Gwyddoniaeth, Chwaraeon a Cherdd a Drama. Llongyfarchwn ein disgyblion a fu’n arbennig o lwyddiannus yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd Sir Gaerfyrddin, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Llyn ac Eifionydd a gweithgareddau’r Ffermwyr Ifanc. Bu llwyddiant arbennig hefyd i rai disgyblion ym myd pêl droed, rygbi a marchogaeth a’r lefel cenedlaethol. Teimlwn yn falch fod cymaint o gyfleoedd i ddisgyblion ddatblygu eu sgiliau a dilyn eu diddordeb mewn agweddau tu hwnt i furiau’r Ysgol.

 

Rydym fel llywodraethwyr yn ddiolchgar iawn i staff yr ysgol am eu dyfalbarhad a’u gwaith trwy gydol y flwyddyn.

 

Braf ydi adrodd ar ddatblygiadau cadarnhaol yn yr ysgol sydd yn cael ei rhannu gyda’r corff drwy'r amryfal Is-bwyllgorau'r Llywodraethwyr a chyfle i fireinio strategaeth yn ymwneud ag iechyd meddwl, sicrhau ansawdd, systemau gwrthfwlio KiVa a materion presenoldeb. Rhan greiddiol o hyn oll ydi'r cydweithio cadarn rhwng y dysgwyr a rhieni / gwarcheidwad.

 

Bu’n flwyddyn arloesol i’r ysgol fel un a gymerodd y cyfle i gychwyn Blwyddyn 7 ar y cwricwlwm newydd ac mae pethau’n edrych yn addawol iawn. Da bod arbenigedd staff yr ysgol yn cael ei gydnabod gan nifer o ysgolion eraill yng Ngogledd Cymru ac yn derbyn  gwahoddiadau i roi arweiniad iddynt ar ddatblygu cyrsiau newydd. Cafwyd ymweliadau i’r Ysgol gan Gonsortia Rhanbarthol (GwE) ar sawl achlysur i weld y gwaith oedd yn mynd ymlaen.

 

Parhawyd gyda’r cydweithio ag Ysgolion cynradd a’r ddatblygu pontio a chyda ‘n clwstwr lleol ar ddatblygu’r Gymraeg a chynlluniau trochi, rhifedd ac anghenion dysgu ychwanegol.  Bu’n flwyddyn brysur i hyfforddi staff yn arbennig gyda’r cwricwlwm newydd a chymhwysedd digidol.

 

Cam pendant arall ymlaen yw penderfyniad Llywodraeth Cymru i ddynodi’r ysgol fel un cyfrwng Cymraeg. Datblygir strwythur fel bo disgyblion beth bynnag fo’u hiaith yn derbyn cymorth i ddatblygu eu sgiliau yn y Gymraeg ac i ddod yn gwbl ddwyieithog.

 

Mae pryder o hyd parthed cyllid a chadwyd golwg fanwl ar wariant eleni eto. Bydd yn rhaid parhau i fod yn ddarbodus iawn yn y misoedd nesaf fel bo’r ysgol yn parhau i ddarparu cwricwlwm llawn a phrofiadau allgyrsiol i’n disgyblion. Cymorth mawr oedd bod yr ysgol wedi denu nifer o gyllid drwy grantiau yn ystod y flwyddyn.

 

Hollbwysig yw i ni weithio mewn partneriaeth gyda’n cymuned a chyda rhieni. Llwyddwyd i gynnal nosweithiau agored a roddodd gyfleoedd i drafod ac ymweld ȃ’r ysgol. Rydym yn barhaol yn ceisio mireinio ein dulliau o gysylltu â chynyddu ein partneriaeth drwy ddulliau wyneb yn wyneb ac yn rhithiol.

 

Yn olaf dymunaf ddiolch i’r pennaeth a’r staff am y gwaith da ac arloesol sy’n mynd ymlaen yn yr Ysgol ac i chi fel rhieni am eich cefnogaeth drwy’r flwyddyn.

It is my pleasure to present the governors' report for the year 22-23.

 

Once again this year, the school is moving forward successfully with strong results in the external examinations and it is not too late to congratulate and wish pupils well who have gone to universities and colleges and into the world of work. Staff were able to support learners as we returned to full examinations in terms of external assessment.

 

It is nice to see our pupils receiving extracurricular experiences including trips in areas such as Science, Sport and Music and Drama. We congratulate our pupils who were particularly successful in the Carmarthenshire Urdd Eisteddfod, Llyn and Eifionydd National Eisteddfod and the activities of the Young Farmers. There was also particular success for some pupils in the world of football, rugby and horse riding and at a national level. We feel proud that there are so many opportunities for pupils to develop their skills and follow their interest in aspects beyond the walls of the School.

 

We as governors are very grateful to the school staff for their perseverance and work throughout the year.

 

It is good to report on positive developments in the school which is shared with the governing body through the various Governors' Sub-Committees and an opportunity to refine strategies relating to mental health, quality assurance, KiVa anti-bullying systems and attendance issues. A core part of all this is the strong collaboration between the learners and parents / guardian.

 

It was an innovative year for the school as it took the opportunity to start Year 7 on the new curriculum and things look very promising. It is good that the expertise of the school's staff is recognized by a number of other schools in North Wales and they receive invitations to give them guidance on developing new courses. There were visits to the School by the Regional Consortia (GwE) on several occasions to see the work that was going on.

 

We continued with the collaboration with primary schools and the transition development and with our local cluster on developing the Welsh language and immersion plans, numeracy and additional learning needs. It was a busy year to train staff in particular with the new curriculum and digital competence.

 

Another decisive step forward is the Welsh Government's decision to designate the school as Welsh-medium. A structure is developed so that pupils regardless of their language receive support to develop their skills in Welsh and to become fully bilingual.

 

There is still concern regarding finances and a detailed look at this year's expenditure was again essential. We will have to continue to be very economical in the coming months so that the school continues to provide a full curriculum and extracurricular experiences for our pupils. A big help was that the school attracted a number of funding through grants during the year.

 

It is vital that we work in partnership with our community and with parents. We managed to hold open evenings which gave opportunities to discuss and visit the school. We are constantly trying to refine our methods of contact and increase our partnership through face-to-face and virtual methods.

 

Finally I would like to thank the headteacher and the staff for the good and innovative work that goes on in the School and to you as parents / guardians for your support throughout the year.
