Dennis-Yarmouth art students explore, adapt, and develop self-regulatory and personal management skills in a diverse and nurturing environment. D-Y Art offers a wide variety of studio-based fine art courses ranging from introductory and foundational to more advanced skills and techniques based including Honors, Portfolio, and Advanced Placement. Proudly, students at D-Y receive local and national recognition for their fine arts work and processes each year.
Technical and conceptual skills based art at various levels and interests are available in all grades. Introductory courses offered include Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Mixed-Media. In addition, students receive many exhibition opportunities on campus and at local galleries and museums.
Students are offered professional mentorship, work-based learning, community service and leadership opportunities that relate directly to their specific interests and skill sets. Art educators continuously offer insight to the expansive and ever-growing professional and exceptional careers in the creative industries and human-development services.
