Dawan High School celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. From its beginnings as Tainan County Dawan Junior High School, it evolved into the first comprehensive high school in the county, and later, with city-county consolidation, became the comprehensive high school with the most classes in Tainan City. With strong leadership and community support, the school has thrived. The 8th principal feels honored to take office during this milestone year.
Dawan High excels in various competitions, including sports, science fairs, language, technical, and art contests. This year, students won several medals at the National High School Games. The school leads in AI and digital education. Outstanding alumni such as TREM system developer Guo Chenyu and world champions Yang Hezhen and Yang Yuanqing returned to share their experiences, inspiring current students.
After the pandemic, international exchange resumed with programs like the Australian English Camp and visits from sister schools in the U.S. and Japan. The school continues local cultural exploration, grounded in its "Dawan Studies" curriculum. Activities like hosting international students, recognized by the Tourism Bureau, showcase Dawan High’s global outlook rooted in local engagement.
Campus facilities continue to improve, with upgrades like safe walkways, solar panels, wind protection, and athletic fields. The 40th anniversary featured events such as tree planting, marathons, and exhibitions that strengthened school unity and showcased achievements. Embracing the spirit of "plant a tree in ten years, nurture a person in a hundred," the school looks confidently toward its 50th anniversary, committed to its educational mission.
