Academic Awards

The Warren High School Academic Awards presentation is our opportunity to highlight and recognize the hard work of our Bears.

Recipients have excelled in and outside of the classroom.

This showcase of awards is our opportunity to highlight the impact our Bears have made in a variety of arenas, both in The Cave and our community.

Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award

This award honors an outstanding junior inthe field of science each year with a bronze medal. The bronze medallion portrays a symbolic figure of youth, focusing rays of light on a wreath of laurel - the traditional emblem of honor. The converging rays denote the integration of the sciences. Each recipient is then eligible to apply to the University of Rochester for a scholarship, which may amount to as much as $100,000.

Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award in Humanities and Social Sciences

This international program recognizes outstanding achievement in the humanities and social sciences. One junior is selected who exemplifies the revolutionary spirit of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony and who demonstrates a commitment to the understanding and addressing of difficult social issues. The award encourages an equal emphasis on study, community action, and dialogue. In addition to receiving this award and a bronze medallion, students go on to compete for a $100,000 scholarship to the University of Rochester.

The George Eastman Young Leaders Award is given to a junior who has demonstrated strong leadership, high grades while taking challenging courses, and extensive involvement in extracurricular activities. This award recognized high school juniors who have a strong interest and a high level of achievement in innovation and/or information technology. These students have exposure to new technologies outside of school, such as pursuing serious work opportunities in local laboratories or industry. And are leading other students to new approaches to old problems.
