We have the honor to watch the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This tomb is guarded 24 hours per day by a special, elite group of soldiers. We will stand and watch in silence.
Warning: The videos below contains content that is sad and disturbing. We will visit the solemn ground where this occurred. For most of you this is ancient history, but I guarantee that every single adult in your life can remember that day and has a story about it. We watched it in real time and it marked a major turning point in our country. In the same way we now talk about life before Covid and after Covid, we talked about life before 9/11 and after 9/11.
As we explore these grounds remember:
This is a cemetary, there are hundreds of people buried here.
Families of victims are often in attendance, be respectful.
The museum is not a place for selfies, but photos may be taken
Do not act silly here.
