2026 Year 13 students are permitted to wear the old-style summer dress & winter kilt. These uniform items will be phased out in December 2026.

PE

Shoes: non-marking soled sports shoes.

Footwear

Footwear: All – black flat, leather look, school shoes OR flat black sandals with a heel strap. 

The following styles of shoes/sandals are not acceptable: sports shoes, canvas shoes, platform shoes, high heels, clogs, jandals/scuffs, slip-on shoes, enclosed T-bar shoes, velcroed shoes, casual shoes, shoes any other colour than all black.

Personal appearance

Jewellery:  Students may wear: a watch; one plain, discreet necklace, a pounamu or bone carving; one bangle; one plain, discreet ring; plain, discreet earrings in the ear – studs or keepers only.  (No large or dangly earrings or other jewellery will be permitted) Only 1 small discreet nose stud piercing is permitted.

Cosmetics:  Discreet, natural makeup may be worn with school uniform.  

Hair: Must be clean and within natural hair colour tones and range.  Long hair may be required to be tied back in certain classroom and workshop situations.  All students (Year 9 – 13) must be clean shaven.  Any hair ties or bands must be in keeping with the school uniform, both style and colour.  Please note:  no extreme haircuts/do’s will be permitted. The school reserves the right to request students to change inappropriate hairstyles/colours that might not reflect positively on students or the school.
