This is my family! My daughter is at UNT this year and my son is a senior. We love to travel and watch movies! My son and I love The Big Bang Theory and my daughter and I love to watch true crime stories.
I am a quilter and love to make traditional as well as modern quilts. I get my inspiration from art. Several of my quilts were inspired by art work created by middle school students. This is one of my quilts inspired by a student!
I love to read! My love of history actually started with my love of reading historical fiction as a teenager. I read stories about young girls living around the world during different time periods. Their stories intermingled with history made history come alive to me. As an adult I still love historical fiction but have broadened my reading to include political fiction and of course...plenty of education books! I am also a HUGE Harry Potter fan. Some of my favorite authors are David Baldacci, Robert Ludlum, Elizabeth Lowell, Caleb Carr and Judy Garwood.
I grew up in Garland and graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School. I joined the Army immediately after High School and was a medic for 2 years. I returned to Texas to earn my degree in Elementary Education from North Texas. in 2012 I began working on my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M.
As I said before I love to travel. When I was in college at UNT I went on an exchange to England for a semester. When I returned to UNT I swore I would find a way to continue traveling. Some of my most memorable travel experiences have been the Grand Canyon, Paris with my daughter, England with family friends, Mackinac Island in Michigan, Ireland and Florida for Disney and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Every couple years we try to return to Florida for a little beach time and some amusement park fun!
My family loves watching movies! All the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, and Harry Potter movies are in regular rotation as our house. I love going to the Alamo Draft house as well as the Drive-In in Fort Worth.
I like LOTS of different genres of music! I listen to everything from country to light rap. My daughter keeps me up to date with music from today.
