Erasmus+ C3 Turkey visit
On Sunday November 19 2023, all PE departments headed to Turkey for a sports and sustainability training in the context of our Erasmus project Green Schools for Green Europe. We enthusiastically started the first activity on Monday; day of training. That day in Alanya we visited the university's sports faculty. There we met many students, heard everything about the university, and enjoyed eating local food in the canteen. In the afternoon we brainstormed the topic 'Green Sports' in mixed groups. We ended this first day well with a joint dinner with the whole group. Tuesday was a more active day, with hiking and plogging (this means jogging and picking up trash). In the afternoon we drove back to Antalya. The program started on Wednesday further in Antalya, at Antalya College, partner school in this Erasmus project. Here we had a guided tour and the rest of the day was focused on orienteering. The weather was a bit disappointing, but... We put this into practice in the rain in the afternoon. On Thursday we tested our dance moves at the green dance and a yoga session that was on the program. Friday morning we took a quick dip and left for the airport. Now it is about putting these sustainable sports activities into practice at school and beyond because the goal of the Green Schools project is to 'green' our curriculum. The plans for this will be made next year. To be continued!
