Social Studies Courses

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  

My goals for my students are centered on the idea that they become critical thinkers with the skills needed to explore and solve problems that exist in the world around them. I am passionate about helping students gain the knowledge necessary to make informed and educated decisions for the overall good of society. I believe my role is to bring the content alive for my students, to act as a facilitator of their learning, and to engage them in such a  way that encourages active participation in the classroom and in our community. 

My classes are student centered places of learning and growth. Students are highly engaged as they participate in different levels of instruction. My lessons reach beyond the textbook and simple comprehension and allow students to fully synthesize the information before them through creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. 

When I am not in the classroom I enjoy many different hobbies: quilting, music, reading, cooking, traveling and watching sports. My family and friends are very important to me and I love spending quality time with them.
