The DHS Testing Center will be open Tuesdays through Fridays for students to make up missed tests and quizzes. Students will come to the Testing Center during their Gael period to make up tests. Students without a Gael period (Freshmen or Sophomores-Seniors with a special schedule) may make up tests from 3-4 on Wednesdays (3:45-4:45 on Grady Days).
Where: The Testing Center is in room F206, but is accessed through The ARC. You must be checked in to The ARC before going to the Testing Center.
When: The Testing Center is open during the following hours:
Tues: All Gael Periods
Wed: All Gael Periods
Wed: 2:45-4pm, or 3:45-4:45 on Grady Day (for students with no Gael Period only)
Thrs: All Gael Periods
Fri: All Gael Periods
Students with a Gael Period are expected to come to the Testing Center during their Gael Period.
Who: All students may access the Testing Center, but not all teachers make use of the Testing Center. Your teacher may prefer that you make up your missed test in the classroom. Before taking advantage of the Testing Center, make sure your teacher has sent your missed test to the Testing Center. The Testing Center is operated by the Tutoring staff.
How: Your teacher must have sent your make-up test/quiz to the testing center. Once you know your teacher has sent your test, you may come to the testing center during your Gael Period. You will need your Student ID to take a test! You will be asked to put all possessions away (including your phone, smart watch, etc.) before you start your test. Your teacher will have informed the testing center if you need a calculator, periodic table, or other special information for your test, and those materials will be provided for you. Once you start your test, you must complete it before leaving the room, so please use the restroom before you start. If you have 504 accommodations regarding testing, be sure your teacher has communicated those accommodations to the Testing Center staff, as they don't have access to your 504 plan.
Your completed test will be given back to your teacher by the Testing Center staff.
