Purpose:

The Freshman Mentor Program provides each freshman with a supportive environment that helps ease their adjustment from middle school to high school. The personal, social and academic growth of each freshmen student is nurtured through an ongoing orientation that includes information about school policies, procedures and programs, academic and social counseling and relationship building through upperclassmen mentors.

FMP Provides each Freshman with:

  • An Advisory period that meets 3 days a week

  • An On-going orientation to high school

  • A comfortable environment to grow in high school

  • Access to Counselors who monitor each freshman's academic progress

  • Constant announcements of school activities

  • Academic Resources through Faculty Advisors, FMPs, and subject study groups

  • Student mentors who provides social and emotional support
