Algal blooms are a growing concern worldwide, especially due to fertilizer runoff and high temperatures, which has ended up creating dead zones by depleting dissolved oxygen and threatening marine life. To address this problem, our team has developed a drone prototype capable of detecting algal blooms and removing the blooms using a custom scooper. Additionally, the harvested algae can be converted into biodiesel for future drone operations, allowing for a self sustainable and eco-friendly model that truly helps marine life.
