Design Brief
Project Name - Wood Game Project
Designer - Simran Barhate
Stakeholders - Dublin Jerome High School
Project Goals and Objectives
The main purpose of this project was to create a game that is able to be played alone on a wooden board. This is why I chose peg solitaire as my game of choice, as it is intriguing and keeps the player going while alone. For this project, you only need one long stick, one piece of wood and cut it into a triangle, mixed with other steps.
Target Market/Audience
This game is designed for anyone from the age of 10 and above. It will keep all ages challenged and hooked. As for younger children, it can be chocking hazard, but with adult supervision, it can be a very fun game. Especially for those, who want a game to play quietly and alone.
Budget
The entire game would be built out of a 1 x 6 x 8 Pine Board. It would be cut into a triangle shape by a Bandsaw, and then the holes for the pegs would be drilled by a drill press. The pegs on the other hand would be cut by a scroll saw. On top of that there would be coloring, but since it would only be colored on the front and the sides, it would be cheaper. The materials would be 7.50 dollars and the coloring would be .50 cents additional, making the total cost 8 dollars.
Key Project Deliverables
This new game design is a calming and soothing way to spend your Sunday afternoon relaxing. It helps elivate mood and is a tricky challenge to keep your brain up to speed.
