Karrer Middle School
Karrer Middle School
Dear Karrer Families-
I hope that this message finds each of you rested and relaxing after such a disruptive school year last year! With the 2021-2022 school year upon us, the Karrer staff and I are excited to welcome each of you into our building and are ready to have a wonderful school year together!
Each week I will send a parent newsletter similar to this initial "Summer Mailing". The items outlined weekly in this newsletter are meant to provide you with up to date information on the happenings within our school; important, upcoming dates and events; and "need to know information" to aid in clear communication! That being said, please reach out to me at anytime if you have a question or concern. Collaboration and communication between home and school is essential to your child's success, and I value what you have to say!
I can't wait to see all of our students on Wednesday, August 18th for the first day of school!
Enjoy your last few weeks of summer-
Brooke Menduni
Principal

Mandatory Fall Athletic practices begin on Monday, August 2nd. Each athlete MUST be signed up through Final Forms and have a current OHSSA physical form completed. (The physical form can either be uploaded to Final Forms or you can bring a hard copy on the first day of practice.)

Welcome to Karrer! All parents are automatically a part of our Parent Teacher Organization; however we would love to have you as involved as possible with our school! This can include coming to monthly PTO meetings to hear about the happenings in the school and connect with KMS administration on issues you would like to discuss; being a committee member or chair; volunteering for school events; assisting with school/community relations; and being an integral part of our school community!
Already the PTO is in need of several volunteers for upcoming events: Sixth Grade Orientation Picnic; Walk Through Day; Supply Sale PIck Up; Spirit Wear Sales; and More! Please check your email for PTO news, or email the executive board (see contact information below) if you are able to assist!
We rely on our annual membership drive to make many events for our students and staff happen each year! Please consider a one time donation using our MEMBERSHIP DRIVE DONATION FORM to assist us in offering many unique experiences for our school! New this year, your name will be automatically entered in a gift card drawing if you donate $25 or more! There will be 4 raffles, and names will be re-entered after every drawing! Donate early so you won't miss out!
Please stop by the PTO table during walk through day, and feel free to reach out to our executive board with any questions using the EXECUTIVE BOARD CONTACT INFORMATION.
Thank you in advance for your partnership-
Brandy Maas
PTO President
We plan to provide a locker and a lock to all students this year. Students will be required to place their given lock on their assigned locker. Use of the locker will be optional. All students will have the option to carry their belongings in a book bag throughout the day, OR place some of their items in their locker, OR not use the locker in any capacity.
Times that students may go to their locker will be limited, and teachers will discuss these times during the first few days of school.
Sixth graders will receive their assigned locks at orientation on 8/11 and will have time to practice that evening. They will NOT have time to put supplies into their lockers, so please do not bring items in until the following day (8/12 walkthrough).
Seventh and eighth graders will receive their locks during walk through day, 8/12. Eighth grade students will receive the same lock they used during their sixth grade year.
If your child is NOT attending orientation or walk through day, they will receive their lock from their team leader on the first day of school. Please call KMS Guidance with any locker questions.
