In the Theory of Knowledge course, year one students will study the following: Knowledge and the Knower, Knowledge and Technology, Knowledge and Language, Synthesizing/writing about ideas through the TOK framework, including understanding the: Scope, Perspectives, Methods and tools, and Ethics. Students will also prepare and present a TOK exhibition this year. Students choose a knowledge question and then select three objects that can be used to answer the knowledge question.
During year two of Theory of Knowledge, students learn about the following areas of knowledge: The Natural Sciences, The Arts, The Human Sciences, History, and Mathematics. The IB assessment during year two is a TOK essay.
This course is REQUIRED for all students who are pursuing the full IB Diploma and an option for students interested in taking 4 or more IB courses.
