We know the quality of IB courses, and we think the IB curriculum is terrific.” [Christoph Guttentag, Director of Undergraduate Admission, Duke University]

“Unlike other accelerated academic programs, the IB Diploma Programme has cohorts. You will be taking classes, studying, going to events, and hanging out with a relatively small group of people (during my term, there was about 15 - 20 of us). This creates a sense of community, friendship, and support. I kept in touch with many of my peer IB graduates, and all of them have had fulfilling and exciting journeys post graduation. Many went to prestigious universities in the US and abroad or had successful beginnings in business, political careers, and other ventures. I feel the Programme prepared me for an intellectually challenging, broad, and collaborative higher education. After the IB Diploma Programme at DCHS, I completed a B. A. in microbiology at Cornell University with minors in French and Francophone Studies, German Studies, and marine biology. I am currently working towards a PhD in microbiology at Oregon State University, with a focus in coral reef resilience and restoration and international collaboration.”

"Another incredible aspect of IB is camaraderie forged among the diploma candidates, and my IB friends are the people with whom I regularly stay in contact with. IB as a whole is incredibly enriching and rewarding, especially in that it does such an excellent job preparing you for success in college."

"It allowed me to grow in such an exponential way that I do not think would have been possible without IB. I do not regret my decision to join IB. Now that I am in college I do feel as if I'm better equipped to handle the workload because I took IB. I also cherish the memories and people who were a part of my IB journey.
-Maxly Gasca, DCS IB Diploma Student, Class of 2020
"The IB program allowed us to gain insight into different cultures, and I enjoyed the fact that we read a wider variety of literature in our English classes compared to the standard English class. Furthermore, the program allowed us to focus on and hone in on our interests across many different subjects."
- Helena Von Sadovszky, DCS IB Diploma Student, Class of 2020
"I really liked the IB program because I was able to see connections between my various classes. In addition, because it is a two year program, I felt like my classes were able to go more in depth into the content compared to a normal class."
- Lydia Wisne, DCS IB Diploma Student, Class of 2020
"The IB program creates a great community of students and teachers that acts as a support system. Students are hardworking, but also collaborative and truly want to see each other succeed."

- Riley Hoover, DCS IB Diploma Student, Class of 2020
"The IB program provides you with a tier of education that the American education system has yet to create which effectively prepares you for the workload and expectations of college. This not only makes the transition to college life much easier, but it also allows one to enter the real world with an already open mind."
