«IB French is such a unique and holistic experience where you not only immerse yourself in the language but French culture and perspectives. You learn so many more colloquialisms and quirks about the language and people that the class feels like an English class, but in French. Instead of memorizing vocabulary, we learn how to use the language to talk about our interests and opinions. That being said, nothing is intimidating about the class. Everyone is friendly and understanding. The way of thinking crafted in this class helps you train your brain for other courses as well. It's a fun class for people who want a more in-depth experience in the language.»
-Soumya Kalle, 2025, Jerome student
I chose to take IB World Languages because I was interested in exploring my options at Emerald Campus and understanding the IB approach (...). I have enjoyed IB French because we deeply explore French culture through guest speakers, class activities, and our pen pals.
- Taylor Rogers, 2025, Coffman student
«I really like the class because the class size is really small, so it forces me to participate. And I like that, because normal high school French classes are really big and sometimes you don't get the same speaking opportunities as you do in IB French. »
-Dhaarini Prasad-Sudha, 2021 Coffman student
«The course work is challenging, yet the teachers give you plenty of guidance and time to do the work. The atmosphere of Emerald Campus is completely different than any of the home schools with how much freedom and trust they give to you as a student. The teachers show you just as much respect as you show them».
-Rylee Meehan, 2021 Scioto student
« The 2 year program has prepared me that I feel confident to have a full conversation with a French speaking native and be able to prolong the conversation and know what I am talking about.»
-Kareen Sud, 2021 Jerome student
«I'd like to thank you for all you did for me; without you I don't know if I'd be living in France. You made me more interested in learning French and in taking IB, which gave me the opportunity to easily receive my degree and further my studies.»
-Grant Powell, 2016 Coffman graduate
«Overall, I think IB provided me with a broad understanding of social, economic and political topics in French and francophone countries pairing with that grammatical and vocabulary basis...applying the language and understanding the country itself is something that I really took from IB.»
-Tej Shangbhag, 2016 Jerome graduate
«I encourage anyone who has the chance to learn a foreign language to do so as much as they can. The programs in Dublin are outstanding, and to be honest there is often a noticeable difference between students who come from high schools with strong foreign language programs and those who do not. I cannot speak highly enough of IB French in Dublin!»
- Brooke Kappeler, 2019 Coffman graduate
