Mrs. Morris

6-1 Language Arts

I bleed Dublin Green! My husband and I grew-up in Dublin and although we moved away for a short while, we knew this is where we wanted to raise our kids. Both of our parents and 3 of my 4 siblings live in Dublin - all just a bike ride away! That means I get to see my 11 nieces and nephews all the time - and I wouldn't have it any other way! You will read lots of stories about my family through my writing with you.

I started my teaching career 24 years ago as a 4th grade teacher. Since then I have taught 6th and 8th grade Language Arts, I was a literacy coach, and I even took a few years off to be the Director of Children's Ministry at New Hope Church. I love my job - using reading and writing to help 6th graders figure out who they are as individuals and as a community is what makes me excited to come to work everyday!

I'm looking forward to a great year together - Go Celts! (and Go Rocks!)

I have three kids - OJ is a senior at Coffman, Bailey is a sophomore at Coffman, and Laney is a 5th grader at Bailey. Next year, Laney will be at Grizzell with us!

My husband and I both went to Dublin High School - now known as Coffman. Here we are back in our old cafeteria at Bailey's cross country banquet.

Besides my love for reading and writing, I have several other hobbies - such as amateur cake decorating, running, and I'm currently learning to play the guitar. I am also a regular volunteer with Children's Ministry and High School Youth group at our church.
