Google Gemini, NotebookLM and Magic School are approved for use by Dublin students ages 14+. These tools meet security guidelines set by Ohio to preserve the privacy of student accounts and data. Students should still be mindful not to share indentifying information like family/friend names, identification numbers, addresses, etc. Safety-related information may still be flagged and shared with school officials.

AI should not replace the learning or complete tasks for which you are being evaluated.
Maintain safety and privacy of your personal information.
Evaluate the generated information for context and accuracy. Find credible sources that verify your claims.
Cite your prompts and usage of AI-generated material.

More details help AI generate it's response. You should ask follow-up questions and provide examples of what "to do" or "not to do".
Give the AI a role or provide context for how you will use the information. Is it a tutor, a researcher, a computer scientist, a graphic artist?
Include the type of output you would like: ... a one page summary, an outline, a list, etc. You can add specifics like "at a 6th grade reading level" or "translated into Spanish."
Use feedback tools to evaluate if the response was useful or not. This helps improve AI over time.
Some AI tools allow for "deep thinking" mode if you need a more detailed response.
