Start each day & each class by checking Schoology & school email for updates.
Adapted from this article
In attempt to set all RLA students up for continued success this school year, we have some tips to offer families:
Encourage your child to be on time (even a few minutes early) to their synchronous classes each day.
Attendance during synchronous learning is mandatory.
If you know ahead of time your child will not be able to attend, please contact their teacher(s) and their homeschool (GMS or KMS).
You may consider having your child create a schedule if he/she is having trouble remembering where to be at what time. Students could even set phone or calendar reminders to help them get into the habit of attending their synchronous lessons daily.
On the first day of school, we encouraged every student to create their own copy of this schedule by adding the names of their classes, their teachers’ names, and how they will connect virtually with each class. This may be helpful for your child to revisit/update as necessary.
Remind your child to check Schoology at the beginning of each learning day and then consistently throughout their day.
Teachers are posting daily work, reminders, updates, and other resources to help students when they are not able to directly contact their teacher.
Need to set up a parent Schoology account? Here are details for how!
Encourage your child to check email in the morning, as well as frequently during the school day.
It’s challenging for teachers to communicate with individuals during synchronous instruction, so teachers will send reminders (ex: missing assignments) to students via email.
During the “check-in” period from 2:00-3:00, teachers may invite students to come for a quick meeting for a variety of reasons; all of these invitations will come through your child’s email.
Help your child to set up a dedicated work space for their remote learning.
This should have an outlet nearby so the Chromebook can be charged as needed.
Make sure they have access to pens/pencils, paper, a calculator, and other school supplies they may need during their school day.
Limit distractions in this dedicated work space, for example: phones, computer games, TV, etc.
Having issues with the school-issued Chromebook?
Here are some troubleshooting tips to help.
If these don’t fix your issue, please have your child email student.helpdesk@dublinschools.net for further assistance.
The RLA teachers keep an updated website of class information, announcements, etc. that is intended to help parents stay “in the loop.” Please bookmark it and visit often. 6th, 7th, 8th

RLA Music Classes -As promised, the HS instrumental teachers have been working to put together a site with resources for MS RLA orchestra and band students.

KMS Orchestra: In addition, HERE is the link to the list of material that we are covering in the Karrer Orchestra Classes.
The purpose of this site is to provide a place where students can choose to go to for materials and ideas for continuing their instrumental practice. This is not part of the graded curriculum, but an extension opportunity that students could take advantage of while in RLA. It is optional for families and designed to help them continue to grow in band and orchestra during the pandemic. Thank you!
Club Information - Club information is coming for GMS and KMS! Information will be posted on our site and in our Team 6-5 course on Schoology.

Unlike elementary school, middle school conferences are not meant for every student. Certainly if you have a concern and would like to meet with your son/daughter's team of teachers, you may request a conference, however the majority of conferences are teacher requested.
Team leaders will be connecting with parents to fill conference slots to those students the teams have identified.
