Pantawid Onse
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is a social protection program that focuses on human capital development through the provision of cash grants to eligible poor households. It is one of the flagship social protection programs of the national government that seeks to enable poor households to meet certain human development goals, particularly along health and education outcomes, aimed at breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
In Davao Region, the Pantawid Pamilya has been operating for almost twelve (12) years in forty nine (49) Cities/Municipalities with over 250,000 beneficiaries in partnership and collaboration with various stakeholders. The program being the largest poverty reduction initiative of the country is faced with diverse obstacles and challenges which honed its ability to develop solutions and strategies that yielded improved program operationalization.
The program has developed initiatives and strategies in line with the monitoring and evaluation, data management, grievance resolution, family development session, case management, gender and development, indigenous people, payment processing, capability building, partnership and networking, and social marketing and advocacy. These did not come out perfect during the beginning of its implementation phase, but the years unfold with new insights and learning which were instrumental in reaching the organizational outcome of the program.
Part of its significant capital in the implementation is the establishment of sustained partnerships and networking with National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Civil Society Organizations, and other private sectors. With the huge program demands and responsibilities, DSWD XI cannot do it alone! Its multi-stakeholder approach in the implementation has generated relevant opportunities for the beneficiaries that supports the intervention through programs and services, policy, and resource-sharing.
Lastly, the most significant capital of the program are its beneficiaries and its workforce, which plays a huge role in realizing the goals and objectives of the program through the support of DSWD and its stakeholders. Providing a safe place for the workforce is part of its main agenda, ensuring that workers are supported, equipped and recognized and thereby boost their confidence to serve with maagap at mahusay. Similarly, workers are trained to treat the beneficiaries with respect and benevolence and serve them ng may tunay na malasakit at mapagkalingang pagtrato sa komunidad.
Truly, great things happen when we work together, not for our own interest but for the welfare of others.
