In celebration of Constitution Day, the Luzerne Intermediate Unit has partnered with the Luzerne County Courthouse to run the first annual E Pluribus Unum Contest.
Elementary Poster Design Challenge:
· Students in grades K-5 are asked to design and submit a poster celebrating the theme “Out of Many, We are One.”
· Contest rules and awards can be found in the attached Elementary Challenge pdf located below.
· All posters must be turned into your teacher so we can send them to the Luzerne Intermediate Unit.
· Poster submission deadline: September 16th. No extensions. Thank you.
Effective immediately , and until further notice, the following procedures will be followed for students who ride to school in personal transportation with a parent or caregiver:
1. Enter the campus from Hildebrandt Road on to the access road near the softball field.
2. Travel past the entrance for the Dallas Intermediate School on Mountaineer Drive to the top of the hill, pass in front of the high school and field house and to the stop sign by the white maintenance building.
3. Please wait at the stop sign to be directed to proceed to the large loop in front of the Wycallis Primary Center. When directed, drive down Conyngham Ave and turn left into the large loop and pull all the way up.
4. Students exit their vehicles from passenger side directly on to sidewalk.
5. Parents are NOT to park across the street and walk their students to the building.
6. After dropping your student off, turn right from the Wycallis driveway on to Conyngham Avenue and proceed toward the Dallas Middle School. Turn right on to the Middle School driveway and follow to Mountaineer Drive.
7. Proceed on Mountaineer Drive past the road for the Dallas Intermediate School and exit the campus on to Hildebrandt Road.
8. Only the school buses and Wycallis staff will use Conyngham Avenue between 8:30 and 9:15 AM.

Wycallis Elementary was among the Distinguished schools honored during a special ceremony at the 2019 Pennsylvania Title I Improving School Performance Conference in Pittsburgh, hosted by PDE's Division of Federal Programs. The theme of the 2019 conference, Mission Equity: Empowering Students to be Future Ready. The theme directly reflects the purpose of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 and the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s goals in ensuring that every student has the supports needed to be successful and prepared for college and/or career opportunities. According to PDE, the 2018 Distinguished Schools were honored for their achievements and were invited share their successes throughout the conference.
