The Sixth Grade Transition

While sixth grade is quite a change from elementary school, I hope you will all remember it as a learning experience that was fun.  After speaking to several of my sixth grade students from this past year, I compiled a list of things that they needed for the year.  Having these items ahead of time will make the sixth grade transition a bit smoother.

The following is a list of supplies that can be purchased over the summer.  The best time to buy them would be during all those “Back to School” sales that will be here before you know it!

• PENCILS (mechanical is preferred)

• 1.5” to 2"  BINDER (At least one to start, but two would be great…they get beat up during the year and  need to be replaced..) You will need dividers to separate all of your subjects in the binder too.

• PENCILS (mechanical is preferred)

• LOOSE LEAF

• PENCILS (mechanical is preferred)

• BOOK COVERS (Preferably paper ones as book socks and contact paper tend to damage the books.)

• PENCILS (mechanical is preferred)

• HIGHLIGHTERS

The above list will make life easier for you.  Some other suggestions might

be notebooks , folders, and some index cards.  Oh, by the way, did I mention

PENCILS?
