Resources to Support You in Your Classes

Be sure to check this section regularly as we will be adding to it as we get feedback from students, teachers and parents. If you come across something that would be useful for secondary students, please let us know and we will add it!

Amazing Math support. They have some other subjects available too now (Science & Engineering, Computer Science etc.) Has videos on how to solve basically everything you can think of in math. There are questions to do to check your understanding once you finish watching the videos. Check out the app as well.

This math resource is designed for Ontario K-12 students. It has a variety of learning tools, home supports, activities and games.

TVO Mathify is also linked on this page which has FREE 1:1 math tutoring from Ontario teachers for students in grades 6-10.

This is a fabulous K-8 math resource that normally has a fee. Right now, they are offering a 90 day membership free. Using this resource would be good practice for students in grades 9 and 10 students to brush up on the basics or to support a younger sibling in the house.

A great place to receive math enrichment. Activities are interactive and the problem of the week could be fun to solve with a friend online!

Online graphing calculator that could be useful if you are working on math at home.

This is a fantastic K-8 resource to support reading. Normally there is a fee for a membership but right now, the rest of the school year is free. This site has levelled books with audio and comprehension quizzes. This resource is also great for French students since they have levelled reading books that would work for core French or French immersion.

Do not forget about the wealth of resources our school library has! Our library has audio and e-books and, if you click on "online research" on the left hand side, you can access many useful databases when you are logged into Chrome using your DSBN credentials. Passwords to some of the databases should be posted by your teachers in their Google Classroom or on their D2L pages!

During this time of schools being closed in Ontario, Nelson is offering students, families and teachers free access to textbooks online across many subject areas. This will definitely support learning at home!

Find videos, articles and activities related to Canadian Geography. This resource is suited for K-12 and will be updated regularly!

Pearson Canada is providing open access to their K-12 learning resources to support students, parents, and teachers learning at home.

Explore your creative side here - art, music, drama, film, literature, and more! World famous museums are also linked on this site. Definitely check this one out!
