Please make sure your child has their backpack, a folder (send in any notes for dismissal changes, important information, etc.), simple/healthy snack and lunch. Don't forget a labeled water bottle. Please email me if your child is late or absent for morning attendance. Continue to check my website weekly for valuable information, homework, School Mass days, updated events etc.
Please note: all parents need to be Virtus trained to be admitted in the school, for field trips and other events working with the students. Please contact Susan Margan in the school office if you have questions on how to access. This is mandated by the Diocese. (They offer online classes and it is good forever). Thank you!
*Reminder - PLEASE make sure your child has their name in their sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets. Items are getting lost already!
~ I-Ready Diagnostic Reports were sent home for your child's reading and math scores. This first Kindergarten assessment is the baseline for all future assessments. I wouldn't be concerned about scores at this point, especially as the Chromebooks and the program are brand new. The students are learning how to navigate through it and submit answers. There was a lot of material covered and some children haven't had any experience or prior knowledge of the topics, there may have been a lot of guessing too. Next test in March will be more telling on their reading and math scores, hopefully seeing much improvement.

Math - Counting stars (review - Halloween math this week - next week we begin Shapes)
Pick out a Halloween Show & Tell and practice (introduce self, tell us what it is, where did it come from...) Nothing too scary!

Wednesday, October 28 - Pumpkin picking (Class Moms arranged - we will decorate with stickers and send home) Pink Day! Send in $2.00 for charity and wear pink/boys can dress down regardless with the donation

ELA - Read the decodable " The Like Book" 3 times and underline the word 'like' (these can stay home - honor system, I recommend you keep them through the year to read to Grandma & guests, decorate a shoebox to store them?)
Math - Halloween counting in order
Friday, October 30 - Halloween! All students come in dressed in their costume (gym uniforms underneath - Halloween presentation at 8:15 all are invited!)
