NJ Top Doc Khayriyyah Chandler, DO is a Rutgers University and University of Medicine and Dentistry School of Osteopathic Medicine alumna and board certified family medicine physician, who has been practiced lifestyle medicine and osteopathic medicine for over a decade. Plant-based nutrition, integrative depression and anxiety are her medical niches. In addition to integrative care, she has maintained deep roots in many aspects of family medicine from home visits to adolescent medicine. She has a long history of urgent care, traditional, virtual and volunteer medicine.
She happens to be a plant-based enthusiast, understanding the overwhelming research showing humans thrive on plants and minimal processed foods - particularly for cardiovascular disease. Vegan, Vegetarian, Reductionist, Flexitarian, Whole 30, Paleo diets can all be plant-based diets, but for our highest risk patients a whole food plant based diet. Using supplementation, traditional medication, manual therapy, acupuncture, etc. are also long-standing recommendations and tools in her practice.
She is an administrator serving as co-founder and medical director of Chandler Professional Services. She currently serves as medical director at other organizations and several iterations in the past. She also served on committees at previous organizations in the past.
She is also an orator, giving talks throughout the Delaware Valley. Speaking with high school and collegiate students hold a special place.
She is a budding yogi, giving space to self-care and a quieter mind, encouraging harmony in her private and professional life. Walking and Double Dutch are mainstays in her staying active. She looks forward to jumping rope on any weekend off. She is also lifelong performer, with an extensive history in the local arts. She engages in youth programs whenever possible. As a "weekend" interior decorator, she is a lover of beautiful transformations - not just in people but in spaces. There is rarely a botanical garden that she does not love. She is a doting mother, raising a family as her top priority. Striving to be present in her community, communities of color, and of young people; to strengthen a strong belief in education and empowerment.
