Promote Your Stream Via Facebook Group Events

In this week’s Drip Tip, we show you how to easily create a Facebook group event to MAXIMIZE your stream’s visibility and help to ultimately get that large audience you and your stream deserves. This social hack is easy to use and can help pay dividends for you quickly!

Note: Time of day is a factor when creating an event so be sure to do this during heavier traffic times. You also don’t need to be a member of a group when posting an event but be mindful that a mod or admin might delete your event.

Creating Your Event

First go to the Facebook group that you are looking to create an event in. Once there, select the Events tab then Create event

Next select Online

Then select General

Next you will paste in the title of your published stream into Event name and input the Start Date and Start Time of your stream

Next select External Link and paste in the URL from your stream using the Share button in your stream. Your stream URL also doubles as a referral link!

Next either paste in your current stream description or create a new one. Remember, a great stream description can go a long way in generating interest in your stream!

Now the final step is to insert your stream preview image! Reposition the image to make sure everything is within view. As an added bonus, be sure to click the invite your friends box so they get an alert to your event!

Once your event is completed, you can see it show up under upcoming events on the group. Here is an example of an event recently created for an upcoming stream:

Group events should only be created for bigger streams that you are wanting to promote heavily and not just a regular stream in your schedule. Perhaps that next big giveaway stream you run can be promoted as a group event! Lastly, be sure to be create events in groups that match the stream you are putting on, IE a Pokemon stream in the Pokemon World group.
