⚡ By the end of the tip, you’ll better understand how to create content to help drive people to your stream and help you grow your audience.
Creating content is one of the most effective ways to grow an audience and build brand awareness. It allows creators to express themselves in a unique way and help drive new connections with different viewers.
We live in a creator economy where creating content is not limited to any physical product or thing, but rather what people will enjoy and find interesting.
Good content helps brand loyalty, helps with retention, and even boost SEO results. While time consuming, it’s something anyone can do to provide an extra boost.
While many people tend to focus on comments & likes, the watch time tends to get overlooked. Watch time is exactly what it sounds like, how long is someone watching this clip for? Do they scroll right past it? Does it grab attention keep the viewers watching until the end? Do people watch more than once? All of these factors come into play with watch time.
Algorithms tend to favor watch time heavily compared to comments and likes. Social media companies push content that help keep people on their website. It’s always important to think about how long your viewers will be watching this content and if they'd watch it multiple times.
The TikTok below is a great example of keeping viewers engaged until the end! This trade up challenge kept viewers engaged until the end by having them continually guess what the next trade was going to be and where it would end.
Using trending audios helps creators like you reach new viewers. Even using trending audio as background music can help boost views.
Why? Trending audios tend to get pushed in front of people since the percentage of watch time for those sounds are greater than others. Remember, its about keeping people on their website!
💡 Good creators will often save sounds ahead of time to come back to when they have the inspiration or the idea that satisfies the trending audio.
Often times, creators think using as many hashtags as possible will help drive discoverability. However, most experienced creators tend to use 4-6 concise hashtags that are directly related to the content.
Adding too many general hashtags can lead to your post being buried due to the volume of people using the same tag.
💡 Try to mix in tags that are unique to your brand & hashtags that your following uses or follow already.
The questions you should ask yourself are: What is the most commonly searched thing that is related to what my video is about? If a random person were to tell you to search this content, what would they type?
LeonHart on YouTube does a great job of this. He will often title things “ *I FINALLY PULLED IT“ “*Best Pokemon Openings” or “I Pulled one of the Rarest Pokemon cards!” to help draw new people to his community.
💡 Make content for you and your community and use titles to attract new people to the community
Content calendars can be a way to organize and help drive consistency of sharing content. Planning content ahead of time centered around historic events or product releases are a good way to help fill this calendar.
