Instagram Live Producer has been adapted to which allow it to work seamlessly with the Drip platform, enabling you to stream live on Instagram using popular streaming software such as OBS or Streamlabs. Through the utilization of a stream key, this integration provides access to production features beyond the limitations of a phone camera, including the incorporation of additional cameras, external microphones, and graphics. This functionality is exclusively accessible through the Drip platform on instagram.com, and requires a professional account to utilize. Before going live with streaming software on Drip, ensure that your video meets the specified requirements for optimal quality and viewer experience. The recommended settings have undergone testing to enhance performance across various devices and networks:
Video Format:
9x16 aspect ratio (preferred, but not mandatory)
720p resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). Note: While 30 fps is recommended, Live Producer can also support 60 fps if desired. However, during use, the Live Producer preview screen will still display 30 fps until corrected.
Resolution: 720x1280
Video bitrate range: 2,250–6,000 Kbps
Alternatives (supported but not recommended): 480p at 30 fps, 360p
Audio Format:
Sample rate: 44.1 KHz
Channel layout: Stereo
Bit rate: up to 256 Kbps
When simulcasting from Drip, the aspect ratio will be fixed at 720x1280 (Mobile Resolution). You can directly set these resolutions from OBS for Instagram or add your stream data directly to Drip from your mobile device.
Choose the streaming software you intend to use for your event, such as Streamlabs, OBS, or Streamyard or even using your phone on Drip.
Before going live on Drip, go to settings, then simulcast. Select Custom and enter the details as needed. The URL and stream key provided will enable you to stream From Drip directly to Instagram Live. (You must go live on Drip first before the option is read on IG)
Navigate to instagram.com and click on the "Add post" button (identified by a plus symbol inside a square), then select "Live" from the dropdown menu.
In the "Go live" screen, input the title of your live video and choose your audience: Select "Practice" if you don't want to broadcast to anyone, and choose "Public" to broadcast to your followers as a regular live video.
