Max bid allows buyers to set the maximum amount they'd pay for the item in an auction.
We automatically bid on behalf of the buyer, up to their maximum bid amount, based on the current highest bid.
This feature works for both pre-bids and live auctions.
It allows buyers to bid ahead of an auction going live, ensuring they have a chance to secure the item they want.
We ensure that the buyer never pays more than their maximum bid amount, even if the bidding goes higher.
If the buyer has an existing max bid set but wants to update it, they can do so by clicking the edit icon (prebid) or custom button (live bid) next to the bid button.
Update the value to your choice.
(Note this has to be higher than the current max bid placed.)
You can not cancel your max bid after it's set
Your Max Bid must be higher than $20.00
Now available in your account is an "Auctions" tab that contains all the latest activity you've done with auctions, including:
Auctions you actively are bidding in
Auctions you recently bid in but lost
Any auctions that ended that you won are in your orders and don't remain here
Auctions that are active (haven't ended) are located here and display all details, including if you are winning or not.
You can edit your bid activity directly from this tab by clicking the edit icon. This will display a popup of the product and from there you can submit a new bid
Pre listing auctions on scheduled sctreams becomes very advantageous for those pre-bidding and using max bid.
This can work great for Team Breaks, Drafts, and box breaks.
Recommend listing as much detail as you can for slabs/picture of the slab to encourage this bidding before a stream.
Would not recommend for games if you need input from a customer who may not be in your stream.
Customers may set a max bid and jump into another stream so @ them if you need a user not in stream
What if two users have a max bid set?
Once a user has a max bid set for an auction, a second user who tries to set a max bid can do so but will only be the winning bidder if their max bid surpasses the original bid. Otherwise the second user is immediately outbid upon setting the max bid, for the total value of the competing max bid.
What if a user attempts a custom bid when a max bid is set?
Once a user has a max bid set for an auction, a second user who then tries to place a custom bid can do so as normal and would be the high bidder if it surpasses the max bid (which they don't know) or would be immediately outbid if it isn't higher than the max bid.
Can I cancel my max bid?
No. Like all other auction activity, bids placed are final.
Can I update my max bid?
Yes. See the "editing a max bid" section above.
What if a max bid does not meet the auction reserve?
The user should generally know ahead of time what the reserve price of the auction is. However if they don't and submit a value beneath the reserve price, then they will be the high bidder and nothing will happen until that mix bid is outbid.
If the auction ends without the reserve being met, then similarly there is no winner.
What if a competing bid is placed that my max bid value can beat, but but can't surpass the auction's increment value?
If the max bid value does not meet or exceed the needed value for a subsequent bid, it will not auto-bid to beat the competing bid.
In such a case the max bid user will be outbid.
