Reflection
What was the intended function of your box, and how does the design contribute to the function?
It is meeting my functional goal of being able to hold some of my savings. The design contributes to the function of the box because of the knob that says "DINERO"(money in Spanish), explaining the purpose of the box.
Describe how it is meeting the functional goals.
Describe how your form contributes to the overall function.
Describe one thing you are most proud of about the box itself? One thing I am proud of the box is the knob because I know how many attempts it took me to correctly 3D print it.
Point at this when you are presenting, either on the physical box or on a closeup photo.
Describe one thing about your physical box you would improve on if you could do it again? One thing on my box I would improve on is the sanding job on the top, because it is uneven.
Point at this when you are presenting, either on the physical box or on a closeup photo.
What is one challenge you faced while doing this project that you were able to overcome, and how did you overcome it? One challenge I faced was spray painting the black on the box because it took a long time for a side to dry, and I had to develop the patience to wait for it.
What is one skill that you learned so well in this project that you would feel comfortable teaching it to another student? One skill is 3D printing. Because of how many attempts it took me to make my knob, I ended up remembering all of the steps.
Even though everyone ended with their own project, how did teamwork/collaboration play a role in this project? Collaboration played a role in this project because if I didn't know what to do or how to do something, I could ask someone who did.
Offer specific shout outs to acknowledge those who helped you.
Interactive Cornhole Board
Project Brief
We have to make a cornhole game with interactive improvements. We work with a partner and group and learn things about scale drawing and tool safety.
We have certain requirement s and constraints in order to make the best cornhole game possible. The main things are that it has to be a bag toss game and it has to be playable at night.
This shows the electronics we've been working on. We have used 3 main pieces of hardware. The beam break sensor, the neopixel, and the piezo sensor.
This shows the 1:6 scaled model we made. This was laser cut, and we colored and designed it the same way we plan to design the final board. Our 25th anniversary theme ended up being Drew's eagle and basketball.
Wood Cornhole Board (snapshot)
To cut the top we used a table saw as well as the miter saw. We had to get it to 24 x 12 inches.
To make the side we used the table saw miter saw and nail gun. We had to get it to 24 x 1 x 1.5.
We have the legs attached with a nut and bolt.
We attached them to the bottom.
Infinity Mirror
In this project I will make an Infinity Mirror.
I need to use the engineering design process to make our mirror. I will also need to hide electronics and master Python syntax.
I need to be able to understand how the mirror works.
