In this project entitled 'The Deadly Picnic' our forensic science class was a given a police report describing what happened the night of the murder and the given police report listed possible suspects of the crime. Then the class was given autopsy of the victims body and photos of the crime scene. We used Smart Draw to make a digital sketch of the crime scene and make our own versions of the photos I have inserted above. In the mock crime scene you are given different clues for the potential place, convict, and weapons used to complete the crime.
In our forensic class we watched a documentary about the Atlanta Child Murders that took place 1979-1981. The murders were never solved because there wasn't much physical evidence that could be traced to a specific suspect with the exception of the two murders that were traced back to Wayne Williams. In this project me and my classmates were given the opportunity to decide who we believe was responsible for the 28 murders of these innocent black children. My personal project was about how I believe the KKK was responsible for these murders because of evidence that was hidden by the FBI during the investigation.
