3/1 Abstraction and STEAM
Abstraction uses visual languages like shape, form, and sizes to create non realisitic things or not "normal" artwork. Adstract allow artist, like pisscasso, to express themselves by creating different forms of art. Comparing abstract art to Native american abstract art, they have loud colors in the artwork displaying people, animals, and landscape of there culture. People started using abstraction in modernist art by impressionism which introduce abstract art. Abstract art could relate to science and/or math because it under goes the process of structures and patterns. Data can be used to create abstract art by creating art about the data of city streets or people in the city. I think I like to work in a more personally expressive way because I like to create different things from my mind.

Borax is an act of a solute because it is being dissolved into the boiling water. The borax becomes super saturated in the boiling water because it forms crystals. Chemical elements and compounds in the creation is "H2O" which is water and "Na2H20B0O17" is borax. We use hot water to dissolve the borax. When the water cools, it becomes a crystal onto the 3D sculpture. My 3D sculpture is dynamic because the crystals will form on thee outside of the 3D shape.

In art, we been taught how to create mandalas which can relate to geometry because of the shapes and angles. In the mandala project, we can relate the principles of design because of the balance, rhythm, and repetition. In the Elements of Art, we used color, lines, value, shape, and form. First, we plan the outcome of the project. Then in the progress of creating, we take progress photos. Current artist we have learned about was Kehinde Wiley and his usage of painting black figures with floral backgrounds.
The Mandala's project integrated with STEAM because it related science and the arts in STEAM into one project. Main ideas we used was drawing the element given to our groups. By creating the Mandalas, it helped create perspectives by allowing us to experience how Chinese Buddhist create mandalas with sand but we only used paper. Our group project was not successful because our circles were not even. if I was a teacher, I would change to project to have the element symbol in the middle of the circle.
Mandala Research 9/28/23
In ChemVAS, the Mandala is used to show cultural traditions and spiritual guides for people. Mandala's were created by Buddhist which originated in Ancient India. The principles of design that are included in the Mandala are Patterns, Rhythm, Repetition, Unity, Variety, Movement, and Balance. I can use the Mandala in the Atomic Model in the nucleus with the protons and neutrons.

Art is a story telling image that comes in different context because we all think differently. Art can be used in math to code an image of art. It can also be used in history to illustrate what old historians look like; that's why we study art history. While in science, used to draw out the steps of a experiment. Art comes in different forms, shapes, and sizes but its up to the viewers to picture a story about the artwork.
